THE CURLEY’S WAY
sourdough bagels
Curley’s unique sourdough bagels are unbleached, unbromated, has no added sugar, no high fructose corn syrup. no additives, and are dye free.
This gives our bagels a distinct tangy flavor, chewy texture and crunchy crust. The dough is naturally fermented which allows for a richer flavor and better digestibility.
BENEFITS
Digestibility – the sourdough process breaks down gluten and phytic acid making the dough easier on the tummy!
Nutritional Value – Sourdough bagels contain whole grains, providing prebiotics, vitamins, and minerals
Flavor – A longer fermentation creates a better, tangier, richer flavor profile
Artisanal Quality – We craft our bagels with higher quality ingredients and thoughtfulness
CURLEY’S BAGELS TEAM
Curley’s Bagels was created by three friends Mark Curley, Anne Muldoon and Killian Hunt.
Anne and Killian are both in the restaurant industry and have decades worth of experience opening and running restaurants together and separately in the Sunnyside, Queens neighborhood and beyond. Anne and Killian have created a cozy inviting neighborhood restaurant with the Lowery Bar and in fact it was their warmth, great conversations, and love for food over the years that gave birth to the idea of Curley’s Bagels.
Curley is trying his hand at the bagel business as he is a native New Yorker and Location Manager for film/tv for over two decades, so he knows the importance of high-quality bagels on the go and a vast network of New Yorkers. We have combined forces, become friends and partners out of a love for quality food, community and customer service.
Curley’s Bagel is a modern bagel store nestled in the heart of Sunnyside, NY. Curley himself is a true native New Yorker in every sense. As soon as you enter the store, he is there to greet you with his Mets hat on, smile ear to ear, and charming Queens accent. His warm personality makes the community feel like Curley’s Bagels is a neighborhood hub.
Curley’s passion for bagels is evident in the quality ingredients, thoughtfulness of the recipes, while respecting the classic styles that NYers hold dear.
Outside of the shop, Curley is a family man. He often talks about his daughter and wife, who you see very often eating bagels in the shop and helping him test and taste new recipes! Family and friends is at the core of the business. Many recipes are inspired by his friends and family and meals he helped create over the years. He strives to make the shop a warm friendly business and a place where everyone feels welcome much like his family home growing up.
